An Epilogue—Or, What are My Next Steps?

As I noted way back at the beginning of this article—around two and a half thousand words ago, give or take—I have rewritten chapters one to fourteen, inclusive.

The obvious next step is for me to jump into chapter fifteen, edit it, move on to chapter sixteen, and repeat until I have made it through to chapter thirty (because, as mentioned above, I will be adding a brand spanking new chapter).

While it seems like I’m hurtling towards the end, I’m not. Following this, I’ll have another pass, editing and rewriting once more, from the very beginning, to make sure everything makes sense and connects, and possibly make some decisions about the parts of the book that are concerning me.

And then…it will be time for the third draft. Hopefully by that point, it will somewhat resemble the final product. If I’m lucky, that is.
